Chapter 3 The next morning, Heidi awoke to the smell of delicious breakfast food and while she ate her food she couldn’t help but feel that Becky was a tad distant and removed from the morning. There were no obvious signs that something was wrong but Becky seemed almost robotic as she ate. When her father came downstairs everything seemed fine until he got himself a beer “to wash down his eggs.” “We should get back to campus before the parking fills up,” Becky spoke as she sat up from the table, “Thanks mom, we’ll see you at the game.” Heidi had to choke down a mouthful of eggs as Becky walked away from the table, “thanks for everything,” Heidi smiled as she stood up to follow Becky. The drive back to campus was nearly silent. “You okay?” Heidi ventured. “Yep,” Becky replied. The silence inched by, stretching out over what felt like years, until Becky finally spoke, “So you’ve never been to a college football game before?” “Nope,” Heidi nodded. “Today will be fun

“Kyaaah, come on!” Scurri whined, her chubby face forming an immense pout as she lowered herself down to Marcus’ height. “You’ve gotta! You’ve gotta you’ve gotta you’ve gotta!”
Marcus scowled, his arms crossed over his chest. He felt the strings in his chest dancing as he watched the girl’s large green eyes shimmer as if she were about to start crying, and turned to face away from her.
“No way,” he replied, looking past the hedge and into one of the central traffic areas of the park. He found himself looking towards the object of such heavy desires.
